Porcelain Tea Service with Sterling Mounts
England c. 1883
A particularly elegant and well-conceived example of Royal Worcester Porcelain, this refined déjeuné tea set features sterling silver mounts and fine gilding on its bamboo-form handles. Oriental birds and foliage scenes are also fire-gilt and beautifully painted in grisaille matte gold and platinum
Well executed and well preserved, this tea set is a wonderful, and wonderfully restrained, example of Royal Worcester’s work in the Japanesque taste.
